Changing Lanes

Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Affleck have a conflict that keeps getting out of hand. It starts with some swearing, but both go one step further. Until both lives are almost completely ruined. This is a real actor's movie and luckily the casting people hit a home run. Jackson is always good and Affleck can still play the frustrated slicker in his sleep. The ending is an anticlimax.

Moderate to moderate drama.

Great concept, the execution leaves a lot to be desired.

The start is still nice and the moment the cat and mouse game really starts it gets more and more unbelievable and after a while I really lost my attention.

In addition, I found Affleck completely unconvincing as a lawyer who has everything his heart desires. Jackson as a divorced father came across much more convincing, great role from him.

The angle of the filmmakers is interesting. It doesn't matter what your standard of living or where you come from, everyone has their own problems to deal with.

Small insufficient.

Decent 'in-between thriller'. Certainly the first half is strong, with a proven formula of how a 'little' thing can have a big impact on someone's life. And how different that thing can be for the person. We see the (broken) family life and the legal world. I am a lover of Samuel L Jackson and in this print he manages to empathize with him and to feel his powerlessness.
Gradually, the film loses grip on the story, including the 'computer voodoo' and Doyle's arrest. The lawyer story feels a little too easy (with the sprinkler scene as the low point). The ending is again very American, everything is neatly ironed out and there is even a happy ending. In a crazy way it bothered me less than usual, perhaps because I like Samuel
