"On the trail of justice."
US Marshall Johnny Reno is surrounded by bandits on his way to the town of Stone Junction. Outlaws Joe Connors and his brother Ab mistakenly believe that the law enforcement officer is after them and a firefight ensues. Reno manages to overpower Joe, but his brother Ab is killed. The two meet a lot of resistance in the town where Sheriff Hodges holds sway. Reno must make every effort to protect the prisoner from the growing mob bent on lynching.
