"In the golden age of cinema, everyone dreams of becoming a star. One man promises to make all their dreams come true..."
Everyone thinks "Dottore" Joe Moretti travels all over Sicily doing screen tests for a major movie studio. However, Moretti turns out to be a con man who sells people false dreams and takes it off by a hefty amount in one effort. One day, the naive convent girl Beata hears of the "star maker" and is determined to audition with him.
