"They needed a hero. They got a villain."
The small and mean Plankton has been trying for years to steal the formula of the famous Krabby Patties and take over the world. His computer wife Karen has realized that Plankton has not only failed in his plans, but that he also treats her badly. That is why she decides to leave him and take over the world herself. Another part from the Spongebob universe and this time the focus is on Plankton. This time it takes place in the sea instead of on land. I thought this worked out better.
The story was also captivating. The film looked okay and well-groomed. It also seemed less chaotic than the previous one with Sandy. I thought it was a successful part.

Enthusiastically animated and voiced with full energy, this new chapter in the SpongeBob universe is characterized primarily by the lack of creativity with which these types of films are made nowadays. In fact, the ideas have completely run out, meaning Plankton: The Movie and director Dave Needham have to rely mainly on some dry jokes thrown in. The non-existent story unfolds quite smoothly and the finale is pretty spectacular, but perhaps it is about time to put this concept on ice until better concepts come along.
