Saw X plot
"Witness the return of Jigsaw."
John Kramer moves from Saw to Mexico after the events. He hopes a risky medical operation can cure his cancer. Once there, he discovers that it concerns fraudulent practices. To teach the scammers a lesson, he makes traps for them.

I can call myself an über Saw fan, but I also have to admit that after Saw III, that really powerful thing was lost, even though it still remained more than entertaining and the best in its genre. But where Saw (2004) received full marks, the 2 sequels both received a 9/10, I failed with Saw IV (2007) up to and including Saw VI (2009). ) to 8/10 and the three subsequent Saw films from 2010, 2017 and 2021 received 'only' a (small) 7/10, that's quite low for me as a fan of the genre and the series, so I understand that the average from Saw 3D (2010 remained below 3/5 with 2.78/5 to even exceed Spiral: From the Book of Saw (2021). beaches on a rock, moderate average of 2.56/5. So clearly saw the downward trend, but certainly still experienced enough entertainment, but always seemed to be that little bit less, rather than hoping for an upward push. (Apologies for the long introduction).
But yes, here it is Saw still get. With [i]John Kramer aka Jigsaw (Tobin Bell), completely in the leading role. Also the new angle and the nice new torture games. The fact that he is now present also adds to that, and of course the ending is wonderful. Phew, you might say, after all these years, 'X' is the banging song that gives the Saw series what it deserves. Yup, really enjoyed it again, as it should be
Big 9/10.

A slightly deeper storyline in this surprisingly fascinating new Saw.
Interesting to see Tobin Bell more in the foreground before, during and after the well-known games. The last 2 parts (specifically JigSaw) cannot match the quality that this film brings, although it was disappointing that this film added little to the story of this beautiful series.
The traps were no different than the average we are used to and never really reached the level of the first 5 parts.
I think the series can be finished after this, if there is no longer a connection with the new and old events. Saw X is also a nice closing name.

Yet another SAW movie, but this one is slightly different.
This time we look into the life of John Kremer and his fight to beat cancer. He is given the opportunity to undergo a risky and experimental medical procedure, but it doesn't go according to plan as he turns out to have been scammed and now Kremer seeks revenge.
Very interesting to see that John Kremer is now mainly visible in the foreground. That also makes the story a lot more interesting, because he is often the linchpin of the Saw franchise. And of course we shouldn't forget Amanda who, as usual, helps him with the kidnapping and the ''games''. The traps are no longer very innovative, but they weren't disappointing. Just try to come up with something new after 10 SAW films. What often strikes me about the SAW films is that you don't get much time with some games.
I think everyone saw the ending coming. Just like in other SAW films, you can often expect a twist. I had really hoped that Cecilia would not survive, but after John's plans changed slightly, the biggest con artist was given the easiest game of all. Too bad she gets off so easily, but If someone is able to win a game, they have earned their life.
3.5 stars.
