It won't be a surprise to anyone, but the Saw franchise will continue after the recently released Saw X.
The 10th Saw movie has received some of the best reviews in the history of the franchise and many critics and fans believe it is actually the best movie in the series since the original in 2004.
The latest movie horror is a prequel and set between the events of Saw and Saw II, which allowed for Tobin Bell to return as John Kramer in a meaningful role after the character's death at the end of Saw III.
Jigsaw still featured heavily in the series through flashbacks and recorded messages, but the timing of Saw X means we saw Kramer alive.
Franchise producer Oren Koules previously told ComicBook.com that there were already ideas cooking for the next movie.
"We're kind of superstitious," he said.
"We tend not to get too far ahead of ourselves. The movie's going to be released in a few days. For us, we do have ideas for the next one, we haven't put pen to paper. But this is his story, we really wanted it to be John Kramer's story and tell a John Kramer story. So for the first 30 minutes of the movie, he's John Kramer, you don't have any hint of Jigsaw."
Who could return in Saw XI?
The fact that the movie takes place in the past, with Saw XI set to be set after the events of Saw X, has opened up the door for other actors to return for their roles even if the characters have died.
Jigsaw, Amanda Young and Mark Hoffman all returned in Saw X.
That means we could see the likes of Cary Elwes as Lawrence Gordon, Donnie Wahlberg as Eric Matthews, Dina Meyer as Allison Kerry and Betsy Russell as Jill Tuck make a return.
Co-producer Mark Burg told Dexerto: "Saw X ends where I think the audience will want to know what happens, and there’s kind of a cliffhanger ending… And should this movie work, there are going to be a bunch of actors from the past who have already called wanting to know if they can come and be in the next movie since we’re going back in time."
