In the third and final installment of the documentary series 'In Search of Darkness', the filmmakers take another look at 80s horror films. This installment focuses on 79 titles released as direct-to-video, as well as independent horror films. Furthermore, the music in the films is explored, the flexibility of the horror genre is explored and the influence of Mexican, Canadian, Asian and European horror is examined.

After making two documentaries of over 4 hours each about '80s horror films, David A. Weiner now pulls out a lot of crap every 5 hours (followed by half an hour of fan videos about how fantastic this documentary series is) to talk full. The credibility of the praises of the interviewed horror fans no longer hangs by a thread: it is soon hard to find. It's mainly a promo for the rights holders of these films and some of the praise borders on the desperate, but there are still some bright spots for the true horror enthusiast who has a pen and paper (it's about the 80s, isn't it?) to hand. But it's been nice.
