Make an appointment with your dentist before watching: it is a sickly sweet film that will chip the enamel off your teeth.

The lead role is for police officer Dan, and not primarily for the dog Ruby, and oh, how proper that man is! A fun and safe film to let your kids watch; you don't have to worry about mental aftercare.

Despite his neurotic nature, State Trooper Daniel O'Neil [Grant Gustin] pursues his dream: joining the K9 rescue team. During his search for a dog, he encounters Ruby [Bear], a young half-Border Collie. Ruby is intelligent, but she is also a stray. Bear was a playmate of the real Ruby and was trained during filming to play her role. As a result, her transformation from an impulsive, unruly pup into a K9 is entirely believable. The ironic (but true) resolution is moving.
