Local drug dealer Fontaine is shot dead by his rival Isaac. The next morning, however, he wakes up as if nothing had happened. Together with Slick Charles and Yo-Yo, he sets out to investigate this strange incident. Their clues lead to a government conspiracy to conduct experiments on black people. The trio decides to counterattack.

Fun movie, but it's too long unfortunately. I was able to laugh quite a lot in the end, especially because of the role of Jamie Foxx as Slick Charles in combination with Yo-Yo. You could almost make a spin-off with these characters, there are hilarious dialogues in between. The film can be compared to Sorry to Bother you (2018), although that film is more intense with better social criticism. The social criticism in They Cloned Tyrone goes more to the background and the blaxploitation more to the front.

Nice film about a drug dealer who is shot by a rival, but wakes up the next morning. The film has a mysterious plot and the course is not easy to predict. Original and peculiar, yet it does not manage to captivate all the time. Also, the pace could have been a bit faster. The film is set in the present, but looks like a 1970s film.

Pretty surprising movie. The socially critical plot is well put together, but in the end it is not very complicated. The elaboration is well done and quite well done because the film is difficult to place in a genre. It is a mix of crime, comedy, thriller, drama and a bit of sci fi. It starts a bit stiff, but soon the film grabs the viewer and you want to know how the fork is in the stem. Unfortunately, the clue is very obvious, which makes the ending a bit less successful. But other than that a great film with strong roles for the three protagonists. 3.5
