Fall 2021 will mark the 50th anniversary of the release of "Fiddler on the Roof," the film Pauline Kael (The New Yorker) called "the most powerful movie musical ever made." This documentary showcases the humor and drama of director Norman Jewison's quest to recreate the lost world of Jewish life in Tsarist Russia and rediscover the beloved stage hit as a big-screen epic. Filmmaker Daniel Raim puts us in the director's seat and into the heart and mind of Jewison, using behind-the-scenes footage and never-before-seen photos, as well as original interviews with various cast and crew members.
