A rather depressing film in which Cassandra (Exarchopoulos) tries to survive in a society that seems to be only interested in exploitation. And that's not really easy. Awkward echoes for anyone who has ever experienced a performance appraisal - it doesn't really matter from which side, the emptiness and insincerity splash from all sides. Perhaps mainly because of the fact that the ending seems rather hopeless, with a different structure you might see something different in that.

You have to like the style with which the narrative is presented - for me it was a bit too documentary. And Exarchopoulos is never my thing, although it must be said that she does play a fine role here. There is little room for the other roles. Cinematographically, I think it's all mostly ugly, but that can of course be a conscious choice to support the narrative. But that doesn't make it a good movie in my opinion.

Admittedly, like just about everyone else, I also went to see this film because of Adèle Exarchopoulos, but apart from that it also turns out to be a great film about grieving and a not so nice insight into how flight attendants are treated. That seems like a terribly toxic world for women. Even a little humanity is immediately punished if it is not in the protocol.
