Der Fuehrer's Face plot
Donald Duck lives in Germany during World War II. A marching band passing his house plays "Der Fuehrer's Face". He goes to work in a weapons factory where he produces ammunition, brainwashed by the propaganda of the Nazis.

A politically charged animation that was praised more for its content than its style. But I can imagine that such short films were necessary during the war years and were warmly received by the Allies. It was made as propaganda to sell 'war bonds'. But the style is definitely Donald Duck. The only Donald Duck to win an Academy Award, by the way. The humor works occasionally. Purely as an animation, it isn't all that special.
