What looks like an average travelogue about the seaside resort of Nice on the French Côte d'Azur is essentially a satirical portrait of the city's wealthy inhabitants in particular. A contrast between rich and poor becomes visible: the luxurious life on the boulevard and the street life in the slums. The preparation and procession of Nice's Carnival celebration are central.
