Gintama plot
The film is set in an alternate universe during the Edo period. Amanto, aliens, are attacking the Earth. Mankind has been fighting these creatures for ten years. The Shogunate sees the power of the creatures and decides to surrender. A vassal state for the Amanto is created and swords are banned. As a result, the samurai, who have fought for people and country for years, are out of work.
