Aberystwyth, a place of beauty. A thriving university town, situated on the west coast of Wales, between the Irish and the hilly hinterland, filled with small, close-knit villages and the occasional farm. Worlds and traditions that are doomed to collide as soon as they come into contact. Communities that live by their own rules, with their own secrets as a result. Secrets that hide behind a wall of innocence. This is the world that Inspector Tom Mathias enters. Leaving a turbulent life in bustling London behind, he tries to make a fresh start in Aberystwyth. The natural and civilized environment may give the illusion that there are no scandals, but nothing could be further from the truth...

Deze tweede reeks stelt zeker niet teleur, met ditmaal vijf afleveringen van anderhalf uur. Veel sfeer, sterke plotlijnen en steeds interessanter wordende hoofdpersonen. Knap hoe alles langzaam maar zeker in elkaar grijpt, naast de moordzaken die het team moet zien op te lossen. En wat ziet Wales er hier prachtig desolaat uit.

This second series certainly does not disappoint, with this time five episodes of one and a half hours. Lots of atmosphere, strong plot lines and increasingly interesting main characters. It's amazing how everything slowly but surely comes together, in addition to the murder cases that the team has to solve. And how wonderfully desolate Wales looks here.
