The six-part second season of The Diplomat seamlessly follows on from the first season. In this mix of Homeland, Succession and Borgen, everything remains light-hearted, despite the intense events. In a dazzling interplay between ambassador Kate Wyler (Keri Russell), her husband Hal (Rufus Sewell) and head of CIA London Eidra Park (Ali Ahn), they race from room to room and office.
The political shadow play and jousting in The Diplomat can easily be called feminist: the women are strong, sharp and untouchable. The men are at best clumsy, but much more often cowardly, stupid or narcissistic. The Diplomat lacks the dramatic impact that would be welcome due to its high tempo and light-hearted nature, but is entertaining enough for another season.

Great second series after a first part that ended very violently. Sometimes a bit of a soppy business from the circle around ambassador Kate Wyler. It is lying, cheating, manipulating (in short, doing politics). Wyler seems a gentle woman, but under the influence of her husband, she changes into an ambitious predator. A great role is reserved for the PM of GB Rory Kinnear as Trowbridge.
There is speed in the episodes. You end up from one intrigue to the next and surprising twists. Excellent decors: splendor and pomp.
The ending of the last episode makes you very curious about series 3. I'm looking forward to it.
