In the past 1.5 years I have heard of people who binge watch. This has never happened to me during my entire Netflix subscription. Until I saw this series.
This series really has everything: tension, sex, humor, wonder, the incomprehensibility of people, sadness, pain, light-heartedness, infatuation, uncertainty, mystery and a complete immersion in the strange life that people can sometimes have.
The protagonists know how to create a setting that you as a viewer of series can only enjoy. Bouncers are Dominic West and Ruth Wilson. Both play the splashes off the screen. Dominic West (Noah) is inimitable, sometimes a child, sometimes a good father, unreliable and blissfully endearing.
Ruth Wilson shows all sides of what, to me, is the incomprehensibility and elusiveness of women. She really shows you all the angles of all the emotions a woman can have. On the one hand, you could fall in love with her character so much while two minutes later you would love to get rid of her.
There are several common threads in the story. From the affair in series 1 you are slowly sucked into the murder story that goes with it.
Man, what a series. I binged. 16 episodes (after a slow start) in 2 days. Full house with 5 stars.

Good series. The first season was already good, but since that was really just about the affair, it got a bit monotonous. Even though the characters were well developed and the acting more than fine. With this season the level is maintained, but a lot more happens so that season 2 is ultimately better than the first.

After the highly addictive first season, I immediately continued with season 2, and it must be said that the high standard and atmosphere are effortlessly maintained. Characters continue to develop without losing sight of the first season, and the thriller elements are given just a bit more space in this second season and are carefully fleshed out.
The shifts in perspective are more extensive here, and the sustained eye for detail is impressive. It is commendable for this second season that the storylines become richer and never become boring. This is also thanks to the high level of acting. Ruth Wilson and Dominic West shine just like in season 1, but on top of that, Joshua Jackson in the role of Cole and Maura Tierney in the role of Helen are given a bit more space this season and only strengthen the entire story. Finally, it must be said that all the new supporting roles are also a strong addition; this is often different in many series, but here everything feels functional and valuable.
In short, just like season 1, this second season has it all. Exciting, dramatic, sexy, humorous, beautiful visuals, and a script that is excellent so far, ensuring you stay on the edge of your seat for 12 episodes and eagerly anticipate season 3.
