Pro Deo plot

Attorney Alex Sterkenburg, together with her small firm, stands ready every day for people who are not heard and cannot afford a defense. While they do everything in their power to help their clients, they must also fight for their own existence. Growing financial problems and mounting time pressure are taking an increasing toll on the team. Meanwhile, they also face their fair share of challenges outside the walls of the office. Alex struggles with her ex, her parents, a secret, and deep-seated guilt. As she sinks her teeth into a high-profile criminal case, the line between her work and private life blurs further and further.
