Ozark - Season 4 (2022)

Ozark plot

Financial advisor Marty Byrde forms an apparently average family with his wife Wendy and their two teenage children. They lead a "normal" life in Chicago with one small exception: his main client is Mexico's largest drug cartel. When the cartel discovers that Marty's business partner is siphoning money, he and his family are forced to move to Ozark with his family to continue the business there and recoup the drug money. In Ozark, he encounters resistance from the local drug dealer and a criminal family, led by their 19-year-old niece, who are after his money. Meanwhile, a determined FBI agent keeps a close eye on him.

Jammer, het zit er nu op voor me. Ik ga het sfeertje en de locaties van Ozark missen, de Redneck Riviera. En details zoals de opening van iedere aflevering met vier symbolen in de O. Misschien gooi ik seizoen 1 er nog eens een keertje in (al was het maar voor de Snells). Seizoen 3 en 4 zeker niet meer. Daarvoor vind ik de tegenstanders/bad guys te veel een soort karikatuur. Ook “het onverwachte” pakt lang niet zo indrukwekkend uit als in het eerste seizoen. Wat wel heerlijk effectief overkwam was de doodsbedreiging door de Mexicaanse dame. Bam! Heb ook weer genoten van Ruth (kan me haar niet anders voorstellen dan dat personage) en van de ontwikkelingen in de familie. En zeker gaaf om Nas zo uitvoerig langs te horen komen.

Sorry, it's over for me now. I'm going to miss the atmosphere and locations of Ozark, the Redneck Riviera. And details like opening each episode with four symbols in the O.

Maybe I'll throw season 1 in again (if only for the Snells). Seasons 3 and 4 definitely not anymore. I think the opponents/bad guys are too much of a caricature for that. Also “the unexpected” is not nearly as impressive as in the first season.

What came across as wonderfully effective was the death threat by the Mexican lady. Bam! I also enjoyed Ruth (can't imagine her otherwise than that character) and the developments in the family. And certainly cool to hear Nas come by in such detail.
