Ozark plot
Financial advisor Marty Byrde forms an apparently average family with his wife Wendy and their two teenage children. They lead a "normal" life in Chicago with one small exception: his main client is Mexico's largest drug cartel. When the cartel discovers that Marty's business partner is siphoning money, he and his family are forced to move to Ozark with his family to continue the business there and recoup the drug money. In Ozark, he encounters resistance from the local drug dealer and a criminal family, led by their 19-year-old niece, who are after his money. Meanwhile, a determined FBI agent keeps a close eye on him.

I watched this at an unexpected speed. What a story moving forward! Didn't feel like watching for a year because it all seemed a bit too chewed up, done too often. And it actually is, but the plot is so well put together, it never gets boring, the screenwriters always know something to surprise you somewhere. Combine that with a wonderful atmosphere (do I recognize twilight?), a very strong Bateman in the casting of his life and Laura Linney who plays a very strong character, well... Then this series gets a 4*. Maybe more later. Need to let it sink in

Great series, clearly modeled after Breaking Bad. The highly developed characters and the first-class dialogues ensure that the similarities with that series are not too disturbing. In terms of plot lines not equally believable, but everything is compelling and exciting enough to condone this.
