The brilliant and charming Dr. Max Goodwin is the newest medical director of the oldest public hospital in America. His goal is to fight bureaucracy and provide exceptional care. How can he help? dr. Goodwin wants to disrupt the status quo and prove that he will do everything he can to breathe new life into this understaffed, poorly funded and undervalued hospital. The only hospital in the world that can accommodate Ebola patients, inmates of Rikers Island and the President of the United States under one roof. He wants to bring the hospital back to the glory days when it was put on the map.

New Amsterdam was altijd al een curieuze combinatie van sociaal activisme en soap, maar dit seizoen is het wel erg schematisch pamflettistisch geworden.
