Girls plot

Aspiring writer Hannah gets the shock of her life when her parents tell her they can no longer support her financially after two years. In an instant, her whole world is turned upside down and she urgently needs to find a new source of income to maintain her life in New York City. Meanwhile, Hannah's roommate and best friend Marnie seems to have it all together, with a grown job at an art gallery and a long-term relationship with her boyfriend Charlie; but she too has her dilemmas. When British free-spirited Jessa returns from abroad and moves in with her niece Shoshanna, a naive NYU student with Sex and the City dreams, the New York group of friends is complete. Left to their own devices in one of the suburbs of Brooklyn, Hannah and her friends navigate life with the motto "one mistake at a time".
