Good series. A small and remote village, strange inhabitants and a detective from outside; it's enough ingredients for a mystery. The music and camera work are in order and gradually create an idiosyncratic and suspicious atmosphere.
It is striking that there are sometimes takes that last from one to several minutes. I didn't expect that with a series like this. They always bring something extra (tension, immersion). The denouement may also be there. I wonder how this should continue in the second season and if that is sufficient; I think it's nicely rounded off.

I always try to switch between genres, but after two seasons of The Missing I was really looking forward to another British detective. Broadchurch had been on my list for a long time after all the positive noises. This seasons did not disappoint. The build-up of the mystery was good and the reveal was again quite well put together. It wasn't until the beginning of the last episodes that I had a proper guess of what might have happened. The rear was very variable. Olivia Colman is clearly stealing the show here and steals every scene. The rest, especially the Latimer family, I found a bit less. Biggest plus is the location. What a beautiful village that Broadchurch is, which by the way doesn't really exist.
Not the best British detective I've seen, but well worth it.

Good series with every character well explored. David Tennant beautifully portrays Hardy. But especially Olivia Colman as Ellie Miller is brilliantly portrayed. Add to that the landscape with its cliffs and vistas and you have a top series. Definitely worth watching!
