Memorable season, but what else is new? This time two British serial killers in the mix, and that always gives a different local color to an episode. Episode 1 has Donald Neilson, a former and ingenious soldier who had some elaborate and clever plans to make money - I didn't think he was interested in killing at first - but yeah ...

John Linley Frazier in episode 2 is a different story, rather that of a psychologically totally confused person who believes he is acting on orders from something higher, but that too is doubtful because of his suspicious behavior afterwards.. .

The Yosemite Park Slayer, aka Cary Stayner, is one of the most bizarre killers I know in this field, you just don't make it up; a Fincher could have made this a classic a long time ago. Years before this man struck, his little brother was once kidnapped (by a child molester) and miraculously found alive (and well? --- in 1989 he died in a motorcycle accident after trying to drive home from work). after 7 (!) years. Are there connections between the cases? It really doesn't look like it, but something like this still haunts...

And then there's Patrick Mackay, who reminds me a lot of AC/DC's Angus Young in some photos, but I throw it on chance, but less devilish he's not there for, the brutal Butcher Brothers (not to be confused the eponymous directing brothers or the other two brothers producing music!) and the deranged Hadden Clark who just didn't have them all in a row... mandatory viewing for people with an interest in the somewhat darker side of man, you know... .?

Unfortunately still nowhere available in a neat blu-ray box with subs and deserving artwork (hinthinthint)...

*****, So.
