This documentary was made with his full cooperation. It took more than ten years before the documentary makers had done enough research to make this documentary.

Vandaag maar weer eens gestart, het blijf een behoorlijke indruk achterlatend. Man deugd voor geen meter, maar vooral die kille blik met die donkere ogen. Daarnaast dat compulsieve oogknipperen, de man zou een hele goede zijn voor een zware horrorfilm.

Started again today, it continues to leave quite an impression. Man is no good, but especially that cold look with those dark eyes. Besides that compulsive eye blink, the guy would be a really good one for a heavy horror movie.

Geweldige docuserie over het criminele verleden van een op het oog uiterst beschaafde en intelligente man uit een zeer welgestelde makelaarsfamilie met hoofdkwartier in New York. Je wordt als kijker een paar keer op het verkeerde been gezet als je de man ziet spreken en het onderzoek voortschrijdt. De man komt zo beschaafd en slim over en wentelt zich overal vrij aannemelijk uit dat je hem bij voorbaat niet verdenkt. In de allerlaatste aflevering, vlak voor de aftiteling, lijkt de man via een microfoon op zijn lichaam, na het interview met de documentairemaker, onbewust op het toilet een soort bekentenis af te leggen en toe te geven dat zijn misleiding niet heeft gewerkt. Jammer dat er veel gedoe is geweest over dit laatste fragment en later duidelijk is geworden dat de documentairemaker heeft gerommeld met de geluidsopname om het effect voor de uitsmijter van de documentaire te maximaliseren. Reden om deze documentaire niet het maximale aantal sterren te geven.

Great docuseries about the criminal past of a seemingly very cultured and intelligent man from a very wealthy real estate family headquartered in New York. As a viewer you are put on the wrong track a few times when you see the man speak and the investigation continues. The man comes across as so cultured and smart and wallows in everything quite plausibly that you don't suspect him in advance.

In the very last episode, just before the credits, the man seems to make a kind of confession in the toilet via a microphone on his body, after the interview with the documentary maker, and to admit that his deception has not worked. Too bad there was a lot of fuss about this last clip and it later became clear that the documentary maker has fiddled with the sound recording to maximize the effect for the documentary's bouncer. Reason not to give this documentary the maximum number of stars.
