While the first two seasons felt somewhat realistic and raw, here I constantly felt like I was watching some kind of Pearl rip-off; with the same caricatural, almost cartoonish delusions interspersed. With Pearl—probably because it's purely fictional—that works very well, but here it misses the mark completely.

Messy, a complete departure from the true events, Hunnam's Ernie voice, the scandalous portrayal of the second victim (if we don't count the brother) Bernice Worden, Gein's girlfriend who is completely fabricated, the ridiculous ending where Gein supposedly helps arrest Ted Bundy, but especially the sympathy they try to generate for Ed Gein, as if he were merely a victim of his religious mother and his mental illness (he apparently doesn't remember whether he committed the murders). Of course, society is ultimately to blame, not the perpetrator. Why call this "The Ed Gein Story," when almost the entire story is fabricated? I'd rather watch a decent documentary about the life of a serial killer.

Watched the first two episodes. I can't get into them. I think this is absolutely terrible. I'll never know what the rest is like.
