The Killing plot

Based on the Danish TV series Forbrydelsen, The Killing tells the story of the murder of a young girl in Seattle and the ensuing police investigation. The Killing connects three different stories surrounding the murder including the detectives investigating the case, the victim's grieving family and the suspects. The story also explores Seattle's local politics through possible involvement of local politicians. As the series progresses, the more it becomes clear that there are no coincidences, everyone has a secret, the characters think they have moved on with their lives but the past is not over with them.

”Eye for an eye” De Rosie Larsen zaak duurt voort. Wie o wie, heeft haar vermoord? Ook in dit seizoen, vliegen de twisten weer om je oren. Het tempo is wat hoger, de intriges wat groter en daarmee ook de spanning. Dit seizoen was een goede ontknoping voor deze zaak. Ook een erg mooi en sterke laatste aflevering! Acteerwerk ook erg goed weer dit seizoen. Helaas ben ik Nog steeds geen fan van Mireille Enos. Ik vind Sarah Linden, niet heel sympathiek personage, komt soms zelfs onsympathiek over en als hoofdpersonage, gaat er na mijn mening dan wel wat fout. Voor een gedeelte ligt dat aan het schrijfwerk, maar voor een gedeelte ook aan het acteerwerk.

The Rosie Larsen case continues. Who oh who killed her? Also in this season, the twists are flying around your ears again. The pace is a bit higher, the intrigue a bit bigger and with it the tension. This season was a good denouement for this case. Also a very nice and strong last episode!

Acting also very good again this season. Unfortunately I'm Still not a fan of Mireille Enos. I think Sarah Linden, not a very sympathetic character, sometimes even comes across as unsympathetic and as the main character, something goes wrong in my opinion. Partly this is due to the writing, but partly also to the acting.

Ik heb de oorspronkelijke Deense serie voorafgaand aan deze C/US-versie gezien en de aftrap, de eerste seizoenen scoren voor mij gelijkwaardig. Een goed in elkaar gezet plot (dat 2 seizoenen omvat) met misschien net iets teveel zijsprongen. De rollen van Linden en Holder worden prima neergezet. Het blijft best boeiend en is af en toe ook nog spannend.

I have seen the original Danish series prior to this C/US version and the kick-off, the first seasons score equally for me. A well-constructed plot (which spans 2 seasons) with perhaps just too many side steps. The roles of Linden and Holder are well portrayed. It remains quite interesting and is also exciting at times.
