Six Feet Under plot

Six Feet Under revolves around a family of undertakers. In the first episode, the head of the family, Nathaniel Fisher, is killed in a traffic accident. The next five seasons follow the vicissitudes of the remaining family members; the widow Ruth, her sons Nate and David and the daughter Claire.

Seizoen 4 is echt wel een stap achteruit naar kijkplezier toe. De verhaallijnen rond al de personages worden eindeloos uitgesponnen, en zitten dan ook nog eens te veel op dezelfde lijn. Nate en Brenda, David en Keith, Ruth en George: allemaal relaties vol twijfels, voortdurende meningsverschillen, eindeloze welles of nietes-situaties. SFU mist hier echt wel creativiteit, ook al door wat ik bij het derde seizoen vaststelde: het overlijden waar elke aflevering mee start, en dat de rode draad doorheen die aflevering zou moeten zijn: daar wordt weinig of niets mee gedaan, en dat is bijzonder jammer. Benieuwd of het vijfde seizoen voor beterschap zorgt; dit vierde hield alleen stand door de geweldige cast - die eigenlijk toch voor een licht verslavend effect zorgt.

Season 4 is really a step backwards towards viewing pleasure.

The storylines around all the characters are endlessly spun out, and are also too much on the same line.

Nate and Brenda, David and Keith, Ruth and George: all relationships full of doubts, constant disagreements, endless yes or no situations.

SFU really lacks creativity here, also because of what I noticed in the third season: the death with which every episode starts, and that the common thread through that episode should be: little or nothing is done with it, and that is special Unfortunately.

Wondering if the fifth season will improve; this fourth only survived because of the great cast - which actually makes for a slightly addictive effect.

Het minste seizoen tot nu toe (nog 1 te gaan). Sommige personages werken mij op de zenuwen. Nu heb ik niets tegen seks in films of series. Maar per aflevering word je hier overmatig "getrakteerd" op de ene na de andere seksscène. Brenda lust er wel pap van. Ze is natuurlijk knettergek (wat ze zelf ook zegt). Nymfomane in het kwadraat. Al doen alle andere hoofdrolspelers ook hun best om het ene na het andere avontuurtje aan te gaan. Ik zou de serie willen omdopen tot "sex in the coffin".

Some characters get on my nerves.

Now I have nothing against sex in films or series. But per episode you are excessively "treated" to one sex scene after another. Brenda likes it. Of course she is crazy (no matter what she says). Nymphomaniac squared. Although all the other protagonists also do their best to embark on one adventure after another.

I would like to rename the series to "sex in the coffin".
