Wyoming plot

'Reb' Harkness and his Mexican friend Pete are nearly caught red-handed when both attempt to rob a train carrying General George Armstrong Custer and his cavalry. Reb abandons Pete and he flees, with the cavalry chasing him. Reb escapes to Wyoming, where he finds refuge on a ranch owned by orphan Lucy Kinkaid and her little brother Jimmy. The local farmers have to contend with the terror of unscrupulous rich rancher John Buckley, who wants to expand his territory even further. Reb unwittingly becomes involved in the conflict when the brother of the feisty local farrier Mehitabel is killed by Buckley. Reb wants to end the battle between the small farmers and Buckley and hopes he can count on the support of Custer and his cavalry.
