Lonely gunslinger Jacob Wade finds his son Riley, whom he abandoned years ago. Riley is now a young man who hates his father but has no one to turn to. Jacob hopes to settle down, but he can't find a city that wants him. Father and son end their search at the Monolith Ranch in Long Pine, California. The ranch of Jacob's former girlfriend Ada Marshall, to whom he didn't really want to return. Since the joint hunt for a mustang, Riley has been drawn to the shapely Ada. Jacob develops more and more vision problems and his visions of a quiet life seem doomed to fail when enemies from his past reappear one day.
