Jesse James has hung up his revolvers and lives under another name in St. Joseph, Missouri. Under his wife's protest, he agrees to work with Bob Ford and Sam Wells on a gold-related job. They meet at Ford's saloon in Colorado, and Ford's girlfriend joins them. Sam learns of Ford's plans to bring in Jesse in order to collect the reward for his arrest.
