Hank Adams is a successful restaurateur who has a heated affair with Maggie Van Birchard, the wife of an important businessman and adviser to the president. During a rendezvous, the two coincidentally overhear a conversation between Maggie's husband and an admiral about "killing the patient." And because the adulterous couple themselves are being bugged again, this vital information also reaches Agent David Howard, who is protecting the president.
