The single Maria Vos (Linda de Mol) is threatened with death by a stranger. She flees with her children to her former parental home, where she goes into hiding with her older sister Ans (Ariane Schluter). While the winter stay in the villa by the sea confronts Maria with traumatic childhood memories and her environment starts to doubt her mental health more and more, her attacker gets closer and closer.

Starts well, but collapses relentlessly. It is incomprehensible that Linda de Mol was chosen. Very bad as an actress, especially in this drama. You can see the punch line coming for miles and there is no real tension. Two stars: 1 for the start and 1 for the effort.

This week walked on the beach path in Domburg past the beautiful 1930s house that plays a leading role in 'back to the coast'. In the evening the film was set up again. What a drama in the negative sense of the word. Linda de Mol is a very mediocre actress and doesn't look like that with that silly wig. Even Arianne Schluter, whom I hold high, was disappointing. Cinematically it is perfectly fine, what do you want with such a beautiful location, but the big shortcoming is the script. From the start you feel where it is going on your clogs. Maria Vos (Linda de Mol) is a much too stable character, so as a viewer it is difficult to accept that she has herself to blame for all the misery. With a serious drink or drug addiction, she would have been much more believable. Waste of time and effort this. I think it would be a good idea for Alex van Warmerdam to plan a day at the beach in Domburg and be inspired by this special place. I would be happy to show him around.
