Rewatch it and it's still a great movie. I don't understand the low ratings, unless it's because of wrong expectations (this is not a horror movie). There is little to criticize, everything is very solid and well put together, tension, cast, script, cinematography, you name it. I maintain my rating at a very thick 3.5 *, towards 4 *. Very nice sci-fi thriller.

Signs seems like a pretty nice movie. The threat (certainly in the beginning) is very strongly put together. Still, Gibson doesn't seem like the right man and the aliens are portrayed a bit separately to keep up the level. Unfortunately....

Until the last 10 minutes I didn't understand why this movie got such a low rating. I thought he was really good and very strong. Unfortunately, the ending is three times nothing as far as I'm concerned. Because the rest is good, it is still a reasonable enough, but unfortunately not a masterpiece.

Until they go out of the basement I really loved the movie. They hear on the radio that the Aliens have left again. Personally, I would have thought that was a great ending. What's scarier than the fact that alien life forms have gone out of nowhere without anyone knowing why. The idea that they can come back at any moment and not know what the reason for the departure was makes it very exciting for me.
Unfortunately after they get out of the basement some fairy tale comes out about that everything is for a reason plus we know what the aliens can't stand which doesn't make them scary at all anymore. A shame, the movie could have been so much more.
