After her husband's death, Michelle moves into a new flat with her daughter Norah. They want to make a fresh start and befriend two other tenants: Helene and her daughter Channing. Mutual friendships develop, which are overshadowed by jealousy and possessiveness after a while. Someone is determined to scare Michelle and Norah away.
