No Escape
Nice exciting movie. Jack and his family find themselves caught up in an uprising by the locals of an Asian country. And Jack just turned out to be a key employee of a water supply company that has so much resistance. Jack and his family have to stay out of the hands of the population and of course they always succeed in the nick of time.
Everyone is killed, but Jack, Annie and their two adorable daughters miraculously manage to escape. Unrealistic? Of course, but if you can get over that, you will enjoy a hard and exciting film. When at one point Jack says; "No one's gonna die", then you know someone will die in five minutes. You are dealing with such a film. Owen Wilson is surprisingly strong and Lake Bell is good too. Of course the mother and daughters get the blood from under your nails again with a lot of whining and whining (even if they are shot at) but that is part of these kinds of films. Pierce Brosnan is also having the time of his life as a depressed James Bond with a drinking problem. Recommended!

This is the exciting movie I've seen in ages, I was on the edge of my seat and was completely shaken by the tension.
Owen Wilson has already proven that he can carry an action movie just fine. See Behind enemy lines for this.
At one point I was on the verge of not looking any further, because I couldn't bear to watch it anymore, but in the end I was so curious how it went, so that the very sweet ending was not taken away from me either.

Disastrous. I'm mainly talking about "the story," because what was I actually looking at? A rollercoaster that never stops, with one miraculous escape after another. Man, man, man. That went on and on and on. I got so tired of it that I must confess that I couldn't keep my hands off the "fast forward button", so here and there and a lot and often it went very fast: hop to the end. Because nothing missed.
And what a denouement, boy.
In short: a waste of the celluloid and rinse.
