Domovoy plot
Anton Prachenko (Konstantin Khabenskiy) is a crime novelist with severe writer's block. One day a shadowy figure approaches him with a copy of his book. While Anton is signing the book, the stranger asks him if he has ever killed anyone. Shortly afterwards, Anton witnesses how the man commits a double murder, ice cold and with meticulous precision. When the stranger (Vladimir Mashkov) later approaches him again, Anton is shocked at first, but later sees the solution to his writer's block when the man promises to tell him the dirty details of his life in exchange for a hiding place with Anton. Anton now has access to a world that he previously only wrote about, but of which he actually had no knowledge. Slowly he becomes more and more intertwined with this world.
