America reintroduces conscription and three friends have 30 days to prepare for military service. Dixon, Rifkin and Feller grew up together in New York and now lead very different lives, but their friendship still binds them together. Rifkin is a lawyer, Feller a writer and Dixon taxi driver, they all have their own feelings about how they live their lives and what they have to lose. In 30 days they are confronted with their true nature.
