This film depicts the heroic resistance to the takeover and the early days of the defense of the Brest fortress, which was captured at the first battle of the German fascist invaders on June 22, 1941. Three main zones of resistance were under the command of the regiment commander Gavrilov, the people's commissar Fomin and the head of the ninth border post Kizhevatov. Many years later, veteran Alexander Akimov is still remembered of the time when a fifteen-year-old child named Sasha Akimov was deeply in love with the beautiful Anya and they suddenly found themselves in the environment of a bloody war…
