Trace McNeil unsuspectingly tries to read an electricity meter when the owners of the house, the Mansons, point their guns at him. Thereupon, Trace accidentally receives a massive electric shock from a strangely glowing transformer. Strangely enough, the shock doesn't kill him and he wakes up in his bed the next morning. His buddy Quinn drops by to talk about the game Trace bowled the night before, wearing nothing more than a hospital gown. However, Trace can't remember anything from the moment he got the shock to the moment he woke up.
