August is the time of holidays and village festivals in the Portuguese countryside. Emigrants and townspeople return to their native village. We follow fifteen-year-old Tânia, a singer in her father's band, and the amorous entanglements with her cousin Hélder. Against the background of Portuguese rural life with its Portuguese tearjerkers, the relationship between Tânia and her father is not so pure.
