"A love story that is tough ... and tender!"
A black boy, Aaron (Kevin Hooks) and a Puerto Rican girl, Angela (Irene Cara) fall in love. However, this relationship is not accepted by their family because of the different backgrounds. The couple in love rebels against the prejudices that both families have. Slowly but surely this also starts to spread to friends and the hatred towards each other grows. How can this negative spiral be stopped?
