Mergen plot

In the snow-capped Tien Shian Mountains of Soviet-era Kyrgyzstan, the grand opening of a new gold mine is interrupted by a young police officer who succumbs to a strange coincidence. Decades later, local officer Nurtay returns to the mountains after a vlogger stumbles upon a body. The investigation uncovers a conspiracy led by local criminal mastermind Kerym, and reveals the deep-seated violence behind the quiet facade of this seemingly peaceful rural town. Meanwhile, Nurtay must also grapple with resurfacing personal and collective traumas from the past.
