Unfortunately.

The Other Side of the Door was quite hyped according to a few people so I gave it a shot. The location is well thought out, never seen an American film set in India. So this was the first one I saw.

Unfortunately, the film is very wooden. the first 45 minutes it is also very boring with mediocre acting (especially the lead actress) and i had a hard time getting through it. Also because he is nowhere super scary.

Fortunately, the second part is a bit more fun, with more scares and tension. But that couldn't keep the film above water. Missed opportunity.

The location makes it somewhat refreshing, because this horror piece follows the umpteenth typical paths around ghostly apparitions that are widely known. So therefore little tension and no successful scares. So predictability is key! But the fact that it all takes place in India makes it interesting, where the rituals and actions of the people contribute to some sense of reality. A plus is that there are also certain creepy scenes in clear day and not always in the dark. Towards the end there are a few surprising twists in the story so that the ending is not predictable as it seems. Sarah Wayne Callies is also part of the party that we know from the Walking Dead series. 5/10

Watched this one and thought it was an entertaining movie. Not very original but still captivating. The cast did a great job and the ending was good too.

It's not really exciting or scary, but neither is it boring.

Great to pick up when they show it on TV.
