Pierced right through..!

I saw this film a long time ago and all I remember was that, somewhat irritatingly, I had to shine a flashlight through about half of the film just to be able to see anything at all

Watched it on TV back then, yesterday on my laptop. Probably about the same picture quality as back then, but it was much easier to follow on the laptop. The nighttime footage remains a major drawback, while I actually quite liked the camerawork. As long as it doesn't get too dark, it's actually quite atmospheric. I didn't find the soundtrack particularly noteworthy, but it's well-balanced and ultimately quite cool.

The plot unfolds excruciatingly slowly but flows along nicely. It takes its time for some character development, which is another plus. This is often lacking in "gerne" movies (though it's not always important). 7.5/10*

It's surprisingly common in lesser horror films that you sit there in a lot of scenes, completely speechless.

This now somewhat restored version still has some cult following; the night scenes are now clearly visible. I'm not entirely enthusiastic about it. The first half is simply terribly dull, with a lot of horrible slaughter and the usual practical jokes.

Body count is also low in this slasher, but the survival-like scenes in the second half are still somewhat captivating. A weak first half, a B-movie Deliverance in the second. Only for 80s slasher completists. The film was shelved in 1980, but then Daryl Hannah suddenly became known as an actress, and she plays one of the girls here. It was finally released in 1983, but it promptly went down in infamy.
