Mediocre. I saw the remake more than two years ago but has since been completely erased from my memory, it got 2.5 * from me. And I had some expectations of this film, but unfortunately they were not fulfilled. The poster, which is what gore suggests, is misleading, not a big deal in itself because I'm not that much into gore . But unfortunately I managed to lose interest pretty quickly, the (blurred) story didn't really invite me to keep watching. The 'scary scenes' didn't work for me either because I didn't get any connection with the characters. At some point it becomes too repetitive.

It is a film that expects you to puzzle from the first minute and pay attention to all the details so that you find out what happened, but whoever succeeds can then search the internet for the theory that best suits what he/she thinks he/she has seen, none of which fully explain the film. For my taste, the film is set up far too much like an unsolvable puzzle. Cinematographically beautiful, but unfortunately not my thing in terms of concept. Complexity is something I like, but the film has to be conclusive with some effort, and that shouldn't become an end in itself, which is the case here. 2.5*
