The Muppet Movie plot
"More entertaining than humanly possible!"
The first showing of The Muppet Movie, a film about how the muppets might have come together. It starts with Kermit the frog who is in the swamp, catching flies. When a Hollywood literary agent tells him he has talent and can make millions of people happy, he heads for Hollywood. Along the way, he meets Fozzie, a bear who tells jokes, as well as Doc Hopper, a greedy man who owns a chain of frogs' legs restaurants. Doc Hopper wants Kermit to work for him and make commercials, but Kermit doesn't care.

Nice first film that is a bit chaotic here and there more easily looks away.
They should have left out the exaggerated home alone-like bad guys, they were more annoying than they really added value to the story.
I used to only know the Christmas movies, but this first part is also fun to watch.

Hysterical yet calm. That's the special thing about this first Muppet movie. On the one hand, it's a first-rate mess, which is what you get when you get as many Muppets together as possible. On the other hand, the film takes extensive time for the extremely simple story of a frog who travels to Hollywood to become famous. The most memorable moment in it is actually the shot where Kermit is on the bike, still a fantastic special effect. From that moment on, the frog meets the familiar figures and some of the dolls get their own song. The Muppet Movie is not really sharp or hilarious anywhere, but it is a cheerful and colorful fair.
