"All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a Thousand Enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed."

Gosh, how I was shaped as a child by such cartoons. They left a deep impression and over the years I always had a moment when I had a 'need' to watch Watership Down. With every viewing I experience this story just as intensely and emotionally as the first time I watched it so many years ago. It is certainly not a real children's film and has a raw edge. It is a story full of adventure, danger, courage, perseverance and (brother) love. The bond between Hazel and Fiver has always touched me deeply. This is supported by the beautiful and recognizable voice of John Hurt and of course the beautiful musical support. And not just bright eyes, but the music that can be heard throughout the film. Recently also watched the new Netflix series, but then I still watch with sadness because it does not have the intensity of the film. It remains one of my favorites and many viewings will follow.

Watched this animated movie once and this was another remarkable movie. A little less suitable for small children, because there are quite a few dramatic and bloody scenes.

The movie looked nice and the voices were good too.

The song "Bright Eyes" came fairly early in the film and I expected it to be a bit more striking.

Recommended.
