I see a lot of reviews here that there would be too much of the same in the movies. Yesterday I watched part 3 instead of part 1 and 2 that I watch every year at Christmas. But to be honest I missed exactly 2 factors that made the Home Alone series for me! And 2 factors that I value most. I think it's nice that it's about a boy alone at home fighting a number of crooks by means of boobie traps. And then I find it strange that people say 'that's too much of the same' yes but that's what Home Alone is all about!!! Anyway, I missed the following factors:

Why do I watch Home Alone 1 and 2 every Christmas? Because they are Christmas movies! The Christmas tree is decorated, there are presents at the end of the film and quite a bit of attention is paid to the Christmas spirit. And the family goes on Christmas vacation. And herein lies another important factor, being "abandoned and forgotten". Sometimes at home, sometimes at the airport (which means the main character ends up on the wrong plane). These two factors make Home Alone for me and I miss these two factors so much! Home Alone 3 is completely separate from Christmas. Those snowflakes are only useful for his boobie kick with the trampoline above the pool. But apart from the snow, it has nothing to do with Christmas anymore. It's not a Christmas movie like parts 1 and 2. And it hasn't really been forgotten or anything. His parents are just busy people who have to work while their son is sick. Yeah, but they know what they're doing and don't accidentally leave it behind or anything. Part 2 contained all the elements of part 1 and was still presented in an original way. This film contains certain elements from parts 1 and 2 and is original, but I miss the most important elements.

Seen the first two parts quite a lot, but never this third part. Because it is already part three, I had low expectations, perhaps because of this the film was actually not that bad.

A whole new setting and new cast (including Scarlett Johansson). Fortunately, the film is still funny and has quite a few booby traps.

He obviously doesn't get it from the first two parts, but he didn't think this one was that bad.

Parts 1 & 2 were very nice in terms of actors, especially the crooks.

I had already seen part 3 (and 4) after 15 minutes.

Tried again later but no.....

0 stars for me
