Helen is a simple dancer in a third-rate circus. Tired of the whims of her tyrannical boss Blackie, one day she decides to venture out into the wide world in search of a better life. While stealing apples from an orchard along the way, she meets an enthusiastic law student who immediately falls madly in love with her.
